Canoeing on the Otter Creek

You're welcome to borrow our canoes. The Otter Creek is less than a mile down the road from our place, which offers a gentle paddle starting at the covered bridge.

The Otter Creek was the first "highway" through the Champlain Valley, used by the Native Americans as a main travel route and enjoyed by all today as a scenic waterway surrounded by abundant wildlife.

Birding

A reported 359 species of birds are regularly seen in Vermont, including vast numbers of migratory waterfowl at the nearby Dead Creek Wildlife Management area.

If you're a birder, don't forget your camera and binoculars, for you are sure to see many birds both in our yard and along the nearby Otter Creek.

The nearby Salisbury Swamp, within walking distance, is a famous Vermont birding area.
